Annual accounts (dormant accounts in the case of a dormant company) and the confirmation statement are statutory filing requirements with Companies House for all UK-registered companies, even if they are not trading. Dormant company accounts confirm that your company has had no significant financial activity during the financial year, while the confirmation statement verifies that key company details - such as directors, shareholders, and registered office - are accurate and up to date. Filing both on time is legally required to maintain compliance, avoid penalties, and keep your company in good standing. Failure to meet these obligations may result in fines or even company strike-off.

Effective 18 November 2025, identity verification has become a legal requirement under Companies House regulations for individuals who set up, run, own, or control a UK company. This includes company directors and persons with significant control (PSC), all of whom must verify their identity in accordance with Companies House guidelines.
This requirement has been introduced to improve corporate transparency and prevent fraud. Each individual must complete the verification process either directly with Companies House or through an authorised agent.
Please note that we do not provide identity verification services. This is a personal obligation of the company’s directors and officers, and must be completed by them independently.
Identity verification must be completed before filing your confirmation statement. Once successfully verified, you will receive a unique Companies House personal code, which will be required to complete your filings.
